Better days ,Link Web Set
Too young her tender shoulders are bent
showing the weight of age.
Gazing into the cold fireplace
her mind drifts to better days.
Lifes colors have somehow faded
clouds of sorrow threaten to close in.
Surrounding her like the faded cotton dress
she is forced to wear again.
Before her family lost their home
she remembers neighbors at the door.
And laughter ringing through the rafters
as with joy their stories poured.
Sad that at her tender age life's troubles
have come knocking at her door.
Yet, deep within her heart she knows
better days will come once more.
