Sandra Kelly’s poetry is heartfelt. In the tradition of Edgar Guest,
she honors her parents, her Christian faith, and those who serve
our country in the military. She writes love poems with frank
honesty. In her gentle voice, she weaves the happiness and
sadness of life into an inspiring book.

In Subtle Expression Sandra takes you on a journey through the
landscape of her life. As the seasons change from the cold
stark beauty of winter, the Springs rebirth of life, the Summer
exuberant joy and rich colours to the more pastel shades of
Autumn as life sleeps, so it is with ones life. Sandra's poetry
reflects those changes to her life in the rich diversity of her verse.
From the first poem In Touch with Heaven and One
Last Walk through to Unveiled Beauty you will be transported to
images and memories that cannot fail to touch your life.

In ~ One Last Walk she remembers a precious time with her
beloved father, "From the window I watch the smoke unfurl ~
Remembering times as a little girl~When running swiftly
by your side/ we gathered wood at eventide.

Her very fluid verse covers the gamut of emotions from her
family poetry which is thankful but with a tinge of sadness that we
all experience. Yet it is her spiritual poems that her heartfelt faith
shines through as in Heavens Door, "Lord, I don't want a mansion ~
long for silver or for gold~ It means far more to me dear lord ~ I'll have your hand to hold."

There is something for everyone in this precious volume.
Family life, inspiration, spiritual, romance, life lessons. She speaks
to the heart of the reader in an easy and assessable way.
One cannot fail to be not changed in some tangible way.
I have not known Sandra for long but in that time have found a
sensitive, humble, open hearted, faithful and above all a brave
woman whose one desire to share her life with others. For it is in
the power of poetry to transform our existence for the better.
Certainly my life has become infinitely more pleasurable since
finding her poetry online this last year and I know that all who read
this volume with an open heart will find it an uplifting experience.

Sandra Kelly makes me cry. Not an easy thing to admit,
but admit I do. Her poems are about the everyday events
that are so small, they are buta whisper of a moment.
Not those moments that crash and vibrate but the small,
whispers of moments that catch in the throat and remain to the feelings that werarely have words for.
I find it hard to read more than two of her poems in
a row at a time as they are so close and personal, they
bring memories of times lost and peoples smiles that
are lost too, except in memory.
These are not witty, sharp or harsh poems, exposing the
ugliness and bitterness of pain, but rather, they are poems
of soft gentle acceptance of pain as a part of having
and of giving. They are poems that evoke feelings like
a hint of perfume detected in a quiet, darkened room.
They are poems of respect and love.
They make you want to know the author as a friend.
